Introduction

The Rules

First all players put in an ante. Then starting to his or her left, then the dealer deals each player two cards face down also called hole or pocket cards and one card face up.

Now everyone takes a look at their hole cards.

Play starts with the player with the lowest card showing face up, has to place a small bet called the bring in. Then betting continues to the player to the left. Then each player has the chance to call, raise, or fold their cards.

After that round of betting is completed, another card is dealt to each player still playing face up. This card is also sometimes known as fourth street or the turn. Do not ask, most of these games are over a hundred years old.

Another round of betting occurs, and starting with the player with the highest cards showing, betting continues the same way. The player with the highest cards showing will be the one to lead.

After betting is complete, the fifth card is dealt face up. More betting occurs like before, and then the sixth card is dealt face up again. More betting occurs up to the 7th card.

The 7th and final card is then dealt face down to the remaining players in the hand. A 7th and final round of betting occurs.

The players show their hands in the showdown. The player witht the highest hand wins.
