Popular Variations of Stud Poker: Most Popular Stud Poker games described here such as: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Sequence, Dirty Schultz, and Have a Heart. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is a seven card stud where three additional cards are placed face-down in the middle of the table before the game stars. These are not community cards, but cards with special functions. After the second betting round, when all players have two face-up and two face-down cards, the first of these three cards is flipped (the Good). All cards that match the Good are wild. After the third betting round, when players have two face-down and three face-up cards, another card is flipped over (the Bad). If any player at the table has a card that matches the Bed upon his entire hand (both up and down cards), he must discard it without receiving anything in exchange and staying with less cards in the hand. Finally, after the fourth betting round, when players have six cards each, the Ugly card is flipped over. Players who have cards that match the Ugly upon their up-cards automatically lose the game. Sequence Sequence is a seven card stud poker game with wild cards. If at some moment during the game a two is dealt face-up to one of the players, twos become wild. If after a two has become wild, a three is dealt face-up, threes become wild and twos are not wild anymore, and so on up until the Ace. If two was never dealt face-up until the end of the game, no cards are wild, and the game is played as standard seven card stud. Dirty Schultz Dirty Schultz is a seven card stud poker game, similar to Follow the Queen. This time, instead of a Queen, a pair dealt face-up defines the wild card. If a player gets a face-up card that matches another face-up card in his hand, the next card dealt is wild. If another player gets a pair after that, the old wild card is annulled and a new one is defined by the next card dealt. Have a Heart Have a Heart is a variation of Seven Card Stud where hearts have a special function. Any player who is dealt a heart face-up during the game can take any face-up card from any player at the table. He must not discard any of his cards and the player he takes a card from does not get any replacement, so in the end of the game some players will normally have more cards than others. A card is taken from another player each time a heart is dealt face-up, so the number of cards each player holds will change constantly.
